Eco bags for the automotive sector (Cyprus)
Cotton totes, jute shoppers and rPET non-woven carriers for Cyprus dealerships, OEM importers and rally crews — MOQ 50, 7–10 day lead time, OEKO-TEX and GRS certified.
Why this combination works
Cyprus banned single-use plastic bags at the point of sale in 2018, and the move opened a permanent lane for branded reusable bags at every dealership handover. A Limassol showroom hands a customer a cotton tote with the new car keys because the customer needs a bag for the registration documents anyway — and the tote is the brand impression they take home. For the Cyprus Rally in September, branded jute shoppers are filled with team merchandise and handed out at the service park; they end up at home pantries across the island for years.
Models and materials that fit
For showroom handover we run the Westford Mills WM100 in 140 gsm natural cotton (38 × 42 cm, long-handle, reinforced cross-stitch at the strap base) — the bag customers actually reuse. For premium client delivery we move to a laminated jute shopper (30 × 30 × 18 cm, cotton webbing handles, cotton lining) — heavier in the hand, photographs better in a dealership launch shot. For service-department internal use — carrying parts between bays — we use a flat-seam rPET non-woven at 80 gsm, foldable to pocket size, with a printed belly band.
Prints and branding approaches
Screen print on natural cotton at up to six colours keeps decoration under €0.90 per bag for volume runs above 200 units and produces a soft hand that improves with washing. DTG (direct-to-garment) print on cotton is reserved for short runs and full-colour photographic imagery — a car silhouette on a press-kit tote prints cleanly at 1200 dpi. Jute is too coarse for fine detail; we run one- or two-colour screen print on the body panel and reserve the front-pocket logo for a separate woven label. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 cotton and GRS-certified rPET both come with chain-of-custody paperwork.
Bundling and packaging
Showroom totes are flat-folded in stacks of 25 and packed in a single outer polybag — the customer unfolds the bag at the handover counter. Premium laminated jute shoppers are stuffed with tissue and tied with a branded belly band — premium feel at modest cost. Service-department rPET non-wovens are bulk-folded 100 per master carton and restocked from a parts-shelf bin; cost per bag is the priority over presentation.
Runs, lead times, and budgets
MOQ is 50 units for cotton totes (150 for rPET non-woven because of the foldable size), 100 for laminated jute. Lead time 7–10 business days from artwork approval for cotton screen print, 10–14 for jute because the lamination process adds a day. Budget band: €1.20–€2.20 per unit for cotton screen-printed at MOQ, €3.80–€5.20 for laminated jute, €0.90–€1.40 for rPET non-woven. Quotes in EUR; Cyprus B2B adds 19% VAT.
Cyprus context
The 2018 single-use plastic ban reshaped dealership economics — every customer who walks out with a new key now walks out with a branded bag, and the bag is the most-photographed handover item on Instagram after the car itself. The Cyprus Rally service park in September pulls an order spike for rally-team jute shoppers that end up at home pantries across the island; we size production for this run from August. OEM importers running compliance audits ask for GRS chain-of-custody on rPET and OEKO-TEX on cotton, which we include in the standard paperwork above 200 units.
Frequently asked questions
Which eco bag replaces the typical showroom plastic sleeve?
The 140 gsm natural cotton Westford Mills WM100 tote, 38 × 42 cm with long-handle and reinforced cross-stitch. The bag folds flat for stacking at the parts counter and customers reuse it for the registration document run to the DMV. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification on the cotton is included as standard.
Can you supply GRS-certified rPET for OEM compliance?
Yes — our rPET non-woven at 80 gsm carries Global Recycled Standard certification with full chain-of-custody paperwork. OEM importers running compliance audits can request the GRS transaction certificate for any order above 200 units, which is the standard ask from procurement at EU OEMs.
What print method survives a year of weekly washes?
Plastisol screen print on cotton, six colours maximum, with a 180-mesh screen. Plastisol inks bond with the cotton fibre under the heat cure and stay legible through 60+ wash cycles at 40°C. Water-based inks fade faster and we reserve them for short-run, single-use event bags.
How fast can a 200-tote dealership handover run ship?
7–10 business days from artwork approval for cotton screen print. We hold a 3-day rush slot for emergency model-launch orders — call by Wednesday and totes leave the Limassol hub the following Monday morning, with express courier delivery to Nicosia and Larnaca dealerships.
Can you make a jute shopper strong enough for rally merchandise?
Yes — laminated jute at 30 × 30 × 18 cm with cotton webbing handles holds 8 kg comfortably, which is enough for a folded hoodie, two caps and a programme booklet. We run a reinforced bottom panel for rally-team bags that are carried across the service park for the full September event week.
Can you supply a bag with a Cyprus-specific message?
Yes — we print in any language, including Greek (el) for domestic dealership customers and English (en) for the expatriate and tourist market. We hold Greek font libraries for the most common typefaces used in Cyprus OEM brand books; you supply the brand spec and we match it.
