Reflective print for corporate merch in Türkiye
Reflective print uses retroreflective glass-bead or prismatic films that return light to its source when illuminated at night. This page covers the reflective chemistry, the certified films for safety apparel, the substrates that accept reflective decoration and where reflective print earns its place on a corporate merch brief.
What reflective print is and how retroreflection works
Reflective print uses retroreflective glass-bead or prismatic films that return light to its source when illuminated at night. Under daylight, the print reads as a silver or coloured film on the substrate. Under a flashlight, car headlight or other illumination source at night, the print flashes brightly because the glass beads or prisms reflect the light back to the source. The wearer becomes visible to drivers, equipment operators and event staff working in low-light conditions.
Reflective print is the standard decoration for safety apparel (workwear, hi-vis vests, construction apparel, road worker apparel), event merchandise (night runs, concerts, festivals), outdoor apparel (jackets, backpacks, caps) and any program where visibility in low-light conditions is a goal. For safety programs that require certified reflective material, we use 3M Scotchlite-equivalent films with the appropriate EN ISO 20471 certification.
In Türkiye, reflective print production sits in our Levent studio with overflow at our İkitelli partner facility for large production runs. We stock certified reflective films from European and American manufacturers with consistent 7-10 working day replenishment cycles.
Reflective types and their properties
Glass-bead reflective films are the standard for apparel. They consist of a layer of microscopic glass beads bonded to a polymer backing, with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the reverse. When illuminated, the glass beads act as tiny retroreflectors that return light to the source. Glass-bead films are flexible, washable and certified to EN ISO 20471 for hi-vis workwear.
Prismatic reflective films use microprismatic patterns instead of glass beads. They reflect more light per unit area than glass-bead films and are the right answer for high-visibility safety applications. Prismatic films are slightly stiffer than glass-bead films and are typically used on flat or gently curved substrates.
Reflective inks — printable reflective coatings — are the right answer for custom shapes and small details. The ink carries tiny glass beads suspended in a binder and can be screen-printed onto fabric in any shape. Reflective ink has lower retroreflective performance than film but works on curved and irregular surfaces where film is difficult to apply.
Substrates and product fit
Cotton, poly-cotton, polyester, fleece, softshell and most flat-weave fabrics accept reflective film cleanly. The film is applied with a heat press at 160°C for 15-20 seconds. We stock certified reflective films in silver, lime, orange and a small range of fluorescent colours for safety and event apparel.
On apparel, reflective print is the standard for safety apparel (workwear, hi-vis vests, construction apparel), event merchandise (night runs, concerts, festivals) and outdoor apparel (jackets, backpacks, caps). The certified films meet EN ISO 20471 for hi-vis workwear and ANSI/ISEA 107 for US-market safety apparel.
On hard goods, reflective film is applied to plastic and metal substrates with appropriate adhesive systems. Common applications: helmets, hard hats, equipment markings, vehicle livery, signage. We test-adhere every new substrate on a sample before committing a production run.
Run sizes, lead times and unit economics
Reflective print is most economical on runs of 50-1,000 pieces per design. Below 50 pieces we usually suggest CAD-cut reflective vinyl for cost reasons. Above 1,000 pieces we run the fully automated line at our İkitelli partner facility.
Lead time is 5-10 working days for a typical corporate program: 1-2 days for film cutting and preparation, 1 day for proofing, 3-5 days for production, 1-2 days for finishing and pack-out. Repeat orders with held cut files drop to 3-5 working days.
For certified safety apparel programs, we supply chain-of-custody documentation on request. The certification includes the film manufacturer, the EN ISO 20471 or ANSI/ISEA 107 standard, the lot number, and the retroreflective performance values measured per batch.
Wash durability and care guidance
Reflective film survives 50-100 domestic wash cycles at 30-40°C before visible retroreflective loss. Higher wash temperatures and aggressive chemistry (chlorine bleach, fabric softener) shorten service life. We supply a care card with every reflective apparel order: wash at 30°C, line dry, do not iron directly on the film, do not dry-clean.
For safety apparel programs that go through industrial laundering at 60-85°C, reflective film has a shorter service life than domestic wash. We flag this at the brief stage and recommend certified industrial-laundry films for heavy-duty safety apparel programs.
Reflective inks survive 30-50 domestic wash cycles. The retroreflective performance is lower than film but acceptable for fashion and lifestyle programs where maximum safety visibility is not the goal.
Where we run reflective print in Türkiye

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for reflective print?
Reflective print is most economical on runs of 50-1,000 pieces per design. Below 50 pieces we usually suggest CAD-cut reflective vinyl for cost reasons.
How long does reflective print production take?
A typical corporate program takes 5-10 working days: 1-2 days for film cutting, 3-5 days for production. Repeat orders with held cut files drop to 3-5 working days.
Which substrates work with reflective print?
Cotton, poly-cotton, polyester, fleece, softshell and most flat-weave fabrics. On hard goods: plastic and metal substrates with appropriate adhesive systems.
Is reflective print certified for safety apparel?
Yes — certified reflective films meet EN ISO 20471 for European hi-vis workwear and ANSI/ISEA 107 for US-market safety apparel. We supply chain-of-custody documentation on request.
Is reflective print dishwasher-safe?
Reflective film survives 50-100 domestic wash cycles at 30-40°C. Higher temperatures and aggressive chemistry shorten service life. Industrial laundering at 60-85°C shortens service life further; certified industrial-laundry films are recommended for these applications.
Is Corp-Merch a licensed reflective print provider or officially accredited by any film manufacturer?
We are an independent corporate merch decoration provider in Türkiye. We are not licensed, endorsed or accredited by any garment brand, reflective film manufacturer or printing-equipment maker. Brand and product names are used to describe compatible substrates and decoration methods.
