UV print for corporate merch in Türkiye
UV print uses UV-curable inks that are jetted onto a rigid substrate and cured instantly with UV light. This page covers how UV printing works on corporate merch hard goods, the substrates it suits, the durability profile and where UV print earns its place on a corporate merch brief.
What UV printing is and how it cures instantly
UV print uses inkjet printheads to jet UV-curable inks directly onto a rigid substrate, with UV LEDs mounted alongside the printheads that cure the ink instantly. The cured ink layer is robust, scratch-resistant and adheres to most flat or gently curved surfaces without the need for heat. There is no drying time, no lamination requirement and no substrate pre-treatment beyond a primer wipe on non-porous materials.
UV printing handles full-colour CMYK plus white ink and clear varnish in a single pass. The white ink is used as a base layer for printing on clear or dark substrates. The clear varnish can be layered as a topcoat for additional protection or used as a spot varnish for dimensional effects. UV printers print on flat or gently curved substrates up to about 50 mm thick, with print areas up to about 600×400 mm on flatbed printers.
In Türkiye, UV printing capacity sits in our Levent studio with overflow at our Başakşehir partner facility for large production runs. We run flatbed UV printers with CMYK plus white plus clear varnish, plus cylindrical UV printers for drinkware and bottles. The full UV-printing method is also covered under /en/pages/printing/uv-printing.
Substrates and product fit
Plastic substrates are the classic UV-printing substrate. ABS, polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, acrylic, PVC, PET and most engineering plastics UV-print cleanly with the right primer. Common applications: phone cases, USB shells, electronic enclosures, signage panels, display stands, hard plastic packaging.
Metal substrates accept UV printing with appropriate primer. Aluminium, stainless steel, brass and coated metals UV-print cleanly. Common applications: metal awards, signage, name plates, control panels, decorative panels, custom metal packaging.
Glass and ceramic substrates accept UV printing with appropriate primer. Wine glasses, glass awards, ceramic tiles, decorative glass panels and ceramic signage are common applications. The print is reasonably durable but not dishwasher-safe; for dishwasher durability, ceramic-fired decals are more appropriate.
Wood and bamboo substrates accept UV printing directly. Wooden pens, USB shells, business card holders, awards, jewellery boxes and bamboo drinkware are common applications. End-grain woods (oak, walnut) print more cleanly than side-grain woods.
UV print colours and finishes
Standard UV inks cover the full CMYK gamut plus a clear varnish channel. White ink is available as a fifth channel and is used as a base for printing on clear or dark substrates. Spot varnish is achievable by printing the clear ink only on selected areas for a dimensional gloss-matte contrast.
For corporate logos with brand-precise Pantone matching, UV printing reaches Delta-E of 2-3 against a Pantone reference on most substrates. The achievable Delta-E is slightly wider on dark substrates (where white underlay is needed) and slightly tighter on white substrates (where no underlay is needed).
Specialty UV inks — metallic, fluorescent, glow-in-the-dark — are available from European manufacturers with 7-15 working day lead times. Specialty inks are priced at a premium and add 1-2 working days to the lead time. We test-print every new specialty ink on a sample before committing a production run.
Run sizes, lead times and unit economics
UV printing is most economical on runs of 1-500 pieces per design. Below 1, single pieces are routine UV work. Above 500 pieces, we run the fully automated UV line at our Başakşehir partner facility.
Lead time is 3-7 working days for a typical corporate program: 1-2 days for design setup and proofing, 1-3 days for production, 1-2 days for finishing and pack-out. Repeat orders with held files drop to 2-5 working days.
For corporate buyers pricing out a program, the practical question is run size and substrate geometry. UV printing wins on flat rigid substrates for any run size above 1 piece; laser engraving wins on small runs and on substrates where the mark must be dishwasher-safe.
Variable data and personalisation
UV printing handles variable data cleanly — each piece can carry a unique name, number, code or QR code. The artwork is set up in a vector file with a data source (CSV, Excel or database) that supplies the unique content per piece. Common applications: numbered awards, named executive gifts, unique QR-coded product labels, asset tags with serial numbers.
The variable-data workflow adds 1-2 working days to the lead time and is typically priced as a per-piece add-on. We can output variable-data files in any format the brief requires — Excel, CSV, JSON or direct database integration.
For programs that need a variable-data mark on a curved surface (a name on a water bottle, a logo on a pen barrel), we use a cylindrical UV printer attachment that rotates the substrate under the printhead. The cylindrical attachment handles cylindrical substrates cleanly and is included in the standard UV pricing.
Where we run UV print in Türkiye
UV print production sits in our Levent studio with overflow at our Başakşehir partner facility for large production runs. We run flatbed UV printers with CMYK plus white plus clear varnish, plus cylindrical UV printers for drinkware and bottles. Blanks come from Kayseri, Konya, İstanbul and Bursa partner manufacturers; glass blanks from İstanbul and Kırklareli; wood and bamboo blanks from İstanbul and Bartın.
For corporate programs delivered to İstanbul offices, Ankara government and diplomatic addresses, İzmir trade-show venues, and Antalya resort venues, we run hand-delivery for high-value orders and tracked road freight for larger volumes.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for UV print?
UV printing is most economical on runs of 1-500 pieces per design. Below 1, single pieces are routine UV work. Above 500 pieces the per-piece price drops meaningfully at our Başakşehir partner facility.
How fast can a UV print order be completed?
Express for in-stock blanks and simple one-design jobs. 1-2 working days for multi-design jobs. 2-3 working days for custom blanks or specialty substrates.
Which substrates work with UV print?
Plastic substrates (ABS, polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, acrylic, PVC, PET), metal substrates (aluminium, stainless steel, brass, coated metals), glass, ceramic, wood and bamboo. Substrates must be flat or gently curved with appropriate primer on non-porous materials.
Can UV print match a corporate Pantone colour?
UV printing reaches Delta-E of 2-3 against a Pantone reference on most substrates. Slightly wider on dark substrates (where white underlay is needed) and slightly tighter on white substrates.
Is UV print dishwasher-safe?
UV printing is reasonably durable under normal handling. For dishwasher durability on metal and ceramic drinkware, laser engraving or ceramic-fired decals are more appropriate. We flag this at the brief stage.
Is Corp-Merch a licensed UV printer or officially accredited by any equipment manufacturer?
We are an independent corporate merch decoration provider in Türkiye. We are not licensed, endorsed or accredited by any UV printer manufacturer, ink supplier or substrate mill. Brand and product names are used to describe compatible substrates and decoration methods.
